What a race!! Man she has had such a rough past couple of years and it’s so nice to see her put together a race when it counts. She’s such an inspiration to never count yourself out. Great race!
She’s 35. She had a horrible season last year. Nike didn’t renew her contract. I thought she should’ve retired. I’ll eat my words. I’m thrilled. She’s inspiring.

Painful to watch run, but absolutely the nicest woman in USA track and field. Phenomenal race for Infeld!
Who is the commentator? He is doing an amazing job. Get him hired for World Champs, Olympics and everything else distance related. ⭐️
Wondering if she scored enough points to put herself in the quota for world championships. Her time is worth 1154 points on the scoring tables. I can't find how many bonus points she gets for winning nationals (it's a category B).
Going into the meet, Infeld is 66th on the Road to Tokyo standings in the 10000. I'm assuming that Kelati and Schweizer are safe for now?

She has a bit of a rougher gate for a world-class runner, but her natural aerobic talent must be off the charts. It would be interesting to compare her Vo2 max to her running economy. Obviously there are a lot of other intrinsic traits that can't be quantified that make some people great competitors as well.
Here is a good article from a few years ago on some of her injury history including hip surgery:
“When you’re training a lot, it can be hard to tell whether the hurt you’re feeling is just wear and tear or something more serious. So you keep running through it.”
The talk about her recent training (around 8:25 in) is interesting. "Gentle" threshold, incl. double threshold. Shorter warmups/cool downs. Long runs of "only" 80-90 minutes (even for 10k and half marathon).
Sure she's still getting in 80 miles a week, and she has years of aerobic base. But I like the idea that even a pro is working on the "right" amount of quality without hammering volume or hammering workouts. We could all take a lesson from that.

USATF Champs is a B meet so winning is 100 points. Infeld has enough points to go to Tokyo.
