The man just ran a 3:35 1500. He's definitely capable of a 1:42. Maybe a 1:42 low.
The 800 at USAs is going to be incredible. 4th place might be 1:42.5.
I'm not rooting against him and I wish him success, but 3:35≠1:42.
At USAs all these guys will have to run rounds. I'd guess that 4th place will be 1:44.1 in the final. Miller can absolutely do that. Tactics will play the most critical role in this event this year.

He is capable of advancing due to experience. He is capable of staying near or in the front. He is capable of finishing in the top 3. Whether all that happens is remaining to be seen.
Hoey, Miller, Brazier, Hoppel, I'm hoping big Tex makes the final and guns down a few/takes a couple scalps but that's a big ask.
Seriously, who else could win an NCAA 4x400 title (44 split) and also go on to run 3:35 in the 1500m?
The other world elite guys in the 800m are doing only one, or neither.
Bmiller is terrifying.
Uhhhhh... So..... Brazier didn't win an NCAA 4x4 title, but, he ran 46.1 for an indoor open 400 a few years ago. Which means he's got a 44 split in him. He has also run 3:35 for a 1500.

Brazier also basically solo’d that 1500, winning by about 3.5 seconds. That was at a time when the US wasn’t really popping off in the 1500 (though it was also during Covid and it was a world lead at the time)
Editing to note that Miller is also awesome and I’m excited to watch him at USAs!

I’m not sleeping on Miller. On the contrary, I lose sleep every night imagining Miller edging out Brazier for the third spot behind Hoey and Hoppel! It’s one of my worst nightmares for next weekend.
J/K. I don’t lose sleep over it. But it’s something I’ve thought about as a distinct possibility, and I really want to see Brazier make the team after all he’s been through.
We’re going to be sending a very strong men’s 800m team to Tokyo, and someone who’s capable of making the world championship final is going to be left home devastated.

Should be Hoey, Hoppel, Miller at the end, to put an end to Brazier getting a free pass from accusations after he’s provided three years of nothing. Please.
Rewatch Brazier’s 3:35. It’s a covid time trial and NOT a solo effort. He’s got 2 guys (Ciattei being one) in front of him until the last 200m. Super impressive kick, but not sure if he could’ve done the same in Miller’s 3:35 race with more traffic and having to lead after 900m.
