Nordas, Per Svela and this guy for sure. Whatever you have to say about Gjert, is there any other coach you'd put money on dropping a mid 20s guys PB by 6 seconds in one season?

Interesting. Per Svela was also racing (only ran 13:43), but more importantly Filip and Henrik were racing. I wonder if Gjert was also there.

Even before this…I think with his 3 sons you could already argue Gjert was the best 1500m coach in the world. Then Nordas…now this. He may have his flaws but he knows how to coach.

I would love to see a some young no name American (3:35-3:39 type) pick up the phone and call Gjert to go train with him. It would be great to track his progress.
What would we say about a Kenyan coach having this success?
I have nothing bad to say about someone like Patrick Sang. I think many on this forum would agree as well. I have an issue with coaches who have demonstrated histories of doping. I feel the same way about American coaches with similar patterns like Bobby Kersee, Duane Ross, and others.

Nordas is progressing quite well. 3:30.73 so far this season. He went into trouble several times in London. Mills and Myers fell in front of him. He lost approx 2 seconds. His last 400 in 100-splits: 14.0 - 13.5 - 15.3!!! and 13.2.
You forgot Kieran Lumb. He is also in Gjert's traininggroup. He fell in the same 1500-race in Heusden. He was accepted in the B-final (30 min. later) and won. New PB 13:12.80. So there will be three Gjertrunners at the 1500 in Tokyo.
