Thread for wild speculation. My gut is saying that EPO wouldn’t be sufficient to explain her WR and there’s something new out there that isn’t widely known of yet.

what do you all think?
It was no doubt a drug cocktail set up via trial and error with her handlers in charge.

This is where I would advocate for a lesser ban in exchange for information, if this exposes doping practices previously unknown by anti-doping officials.

I'm increasingly of the opinion that there is a new undetectable drug out there.
If a new drug appeared, maybe more expensive than EPO or difficult to get hold of, what you would expect to happen is...
The occasional outlier performance from an American (think Cole Shocker in Paris).
A resurgence from North Africans (Sedjati etc.) and increasingly 'European' Moroccans and Algerians.
The very top Kenyans running super-human times again, with incredible phenomns suddenly appearing at one or two camps (think Koech at Beradelli's camp).
In other words, exactly how 2024 and this year are playing out.
EPO has never made sense as a marathon PED, even though some runners get caught using it. It increases max VO2 for an event where you never get near your aerobic limit.
It might be useful to prevent anemia from the 100+ mile training weeks. Other than that, it's likely something else.
Marathon WR didn't get slaughtered by EPO the way 5000 and 10000 did. Just a couple minutes. 10,000 was wrecked by 50 seconds which is worth more than 3 minutes of marathon.
And unlike the shorter events, marathon progression wasn't halted in its tracks by the blood profile.

Marathon dropped 4 mins. Basically right in line with the 5k and 10k improvements. It just took a few years longer.
it turns out that. 85% of a big number is better than 85% of a small number…
And then the supershoes hit them years before the track to keep the drops coming..
Personally I am voting for some SARM that stack with EPO letting people hit new levels of training.
marathon WR dropped less than 2 minutes between 1988 and 2005, when the last of the EPO era 5000/10000 record was set, and testing was getting more reliable.
There is no such thing as supershoes. They are a corporate psyop. The sport is owned by the equipment manufacturers, what little of value there is to own at all.

I like this theory, but there is one thing wrong with it....how likely is it to be developed and used in Kenya?
If a super new drug were discovered, you would sell it to the rich nations. Norway, UK, USA etc. and if Kenyans are using it then why are they getting caught?
There are new undetectable drugs, but they are not being used by the people getting caught for the old favourites.

Maybe but this is not an example of that because if she was using an UNDETECTABLE new super drug she would not have needed to be using a masking agent.

1-how likely is it to be developed and used in Kenya? Unlikely. Probably researched and developed somewhere in Europe, and probably highly used in Cycling. Look at those guys numbers, insane.
2-If a super new drug were discovered, you would sell it to the rich nations. Norway, UK, USA etc. and if Kenyans are using it then why are they getting caught?
No, it would be too obvious in athletics. The logical thing will be to test use it on those that are not gonna raise suspicion as is the case of Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda. Remember these? "East Africans are naturally talented" "East Africans are genetically gifted" "East Africans are born and raised at high altitude" blah blah blah. They make the ideal experiment bunny. They are expected to run fast and pulverize world records.
Usually an athlete gets caught when they get dumb in the usage, complacency, they think they are untouchable.
