He ALWAYS wants to rip! He's in nearly every fast race and he's run many distances. I love his willingness to lead late in races because he loves to push his body. He's the true peoples champ. I love it.
I was about to make a thread on him too, he always leaves everything out there. He just ran 12:49 obliterating a bunch of top guys, and laid down on the track and looked like he was dying. Always love to watch him race

obviously a great runner who goes for it, but I can't help but feel some of his wins are a little cheapened since the reigning Olympic and World champion barely races on the circuit over this distance.
I don’t understand this. So should we hand him, say, a Silver medal this fall? I am not sure what is being said here. I need an explanation here.
What are you babbling about? Sorry you're so confused about everything. RESPECT YOMIF.
I respect him but what is being said here? I just don’t understand this. Can you explain it? How does Yomif deserve more championship success? Is this something that can be remedied? Could he start maybe 10 seconds ahead of the field?

Dude, everyone gets what you're trying to do but it's annoying so stop it.

I appreciate that he prioritizes going out there and running fast, even if he tends to get a bit over his skis in the last couple of laps. I'll be rooting for him in Tokyo, but I don't know if he 'deserves' a medal more than his peers...Most of the guys in the middle or back of the pack are out there running their absolute d*cks off, but they're just not good enough to be competitive with the top guys. Do they deserve medals, too?

I don't really care who deserves medals, I just like Kejelcha because he lets it rip every time he's out there and isn't a pansy who is afraid to fade late in a fast race. Sure he doesn't have medals but neither does Steve Prefontaine, unless you count the bumper of his car through his chest.
This is going to sound sh1tty but it's not meant to. Kejelcha is a cult hero, exactly like Pre. Both have no great resonance beyond a narrow band of distance running fans because neither have excelled in the ways that the true greats do. I love Yomif, he's up there with my favourite runners currently competing, but his status is cult hero. He gets the credit he deserves for a guy who has one global medal to his name. I keep hoping for more for him, but that's where he is at the minute.

If he’d be able to draft off Jakob instead of leading he’d both be able to close stronger and run faster as a whole
