The fact that you asked the question tells me there would be no point for you. In fact there would be no point for you to race any time. You should quit running and find a new hobby.
I race when it's too hot, and when it's too cold, and when it's too windy, and all other kinds of conditions, simply because I love racing.
If you're going to sit on the sidelines and until an elusive perfect day arrives, then you clearly do not love racing and should find something else to do with your time.
I am racing this weekend and it'll be a lot hotter where I am than where you are, simply because I love doing it. Go find something you love that much.

I was going to do a 5k tomorrow morning to test my fitness but it will be around 77F, full sun, no wind. Tempted to leave it for another week?
It’s only 23c and 61% humidity so not that bad. You will know you summer fitness you will be able to take a few seconds off per km/mi for you actual race pace

Yeah - where I live it might be 82 and 95% humidity. That is pretty rough to race in.
You need to look at the dew point, not the percent humidity. Its fine to race in summer, just adjust your expectations given the conditions and don't blow up early trying to pr.

I take summer off from racing because times are really the only thing I have to shoot for unless I find a low level race to compete for placement in
The point of a race is to win. It's hot for everyone. And 77 hardly makes a difference in something like a 5k (obviously it's not ideal, but you could say the same thing about a course with hills, a lot of turns, wind, etc).
Surprise! Another candy arsed American excuse maker on LRC. I heard your local 5K doesn’t have pace lights and complimentary ice vests. I am heartily laughing that you need perfect conditions for a fitness check! Not your A race, a fit check!
I can see your future right now. You will be that pathetic old man that’s always “training through” or “just looking to tempo” at EVERY race that you enter. OK, Mr. Midpack! Enjoy your mediocre and invisible life.

You sound like a high and mighty virtuous person endowed with a gargantuan one.
I set my 10k pb on a day that reached 113. It was not a tough pb to break having been set in a 15k, and it was not nearly that hot at the race, lower to middle 80s probably (southern California Santa Ana conditions). So if the humidity is low, and especially if the high is 78, not race conditions, then don't even bother to go slow, you can run hard for the first kilometer and see if it is too hot.
Run it, but adjust expectations. I ran one a couple weeks ago and it was 80° with 74° dew point and was a full minute slower than what I ran in Feb when it was perfect.
Adjust your pace accordingly and then blow past everyone who didn’t in the last mile ✅
