Nillesen - bad race, but wouldn’t they room him with Laros?
Kipsang - prime candidate, looked off in last Kenyan race
Tim- don’t think he’d be asked to do this at this stage
Reynold - Doubtful considering he’s been hitting on all cylinders
Myers - Feels like Nike/Myers’ people would let him skip
Fisher Hocker/Laros- nah
my guess is Kipsang - Kenyan pros are worked like dogs.

It feels a bit weird because he wasn’t initially in the field. That being said, no other milers make much sense. I’m realizing now he never specified that it was a miler, though it was the only event over 400 on the men’s main program.

He said it on the Coffee Club Podcast and it made sense in context because Morgan had just introduced that Nike makes their athletes do Pre.
Sidenote: Not sure why they demean this so much, as I’m sure On would consider the same thing down the road

Couldn't it have been someone in the International mile? could have been Ciattei, Spencer (not sure on his affiliation but thought he was in Nike kit?), or Strand though Strand seems incredibly unlikely. My money would be on Spencer given the Aussie connection.

Possible Yared and Hocker got their own rooms based on status? I have no idea ha, but perks for medalists exist and they were the two biggest names/draws.

Talked a huge game on the podcast last week about going for it and then ran 3:51 for DFL.
Props to whoever this athlete was and didn’t try and cancel Nike for asking them to do their job, despite the adverse situation. They get the business. Also, let’s not act like this doesn’t happen at just the professional level. NCAA coaches manipulate their athletic trainers to gas light athletes into racing all the time. A stress fracture? You mean tendinitis? Lol, next please.
