Yes, I've heard him interviewed a few times this season and it's pretty obvious he's super focused on peaking at the World Championships. Any other wins are just bonuses but don't really matter for him. He knows there are a ton of other talented guys, but I'm sure he'll position himself to win Worlds when the time comes. It does look like it will be another close race for sure though.
- it's actually faster than where he was two years ago, when he did ... (nothing)
- Diamond League races are overrated...
- He will be there when it counts...
All BS. All athletes race to win, to be the best.
If you don't win races, you're not the best. I don't consider him top 3 right now.
Exactly. He knows how to peak well for a one off race but the criticism of him is warranted for being the best throughout the season. We'll see how he does at USA's but so far he is for sure not the best.
The field got stuck behind Kipsang who noticeably slowed immediately after the 400 and ended up coming in near last. Hocker should have went past him right there. the field was 1:26 through 600 and 2:26 through 1,000. sad considering they were all there to run fast.
