I think you may have a misunderstanding. 3:25 minutes is not sub elite. Eating a footlong in under a minute is probably closer. I'm not sure why you would try to brag about your mediocre Sub PBs to strangers, but I would highly recommend you avoid the topic if Subway or Quiznos is catering or you risk being exposed as a fool. Trust me, I learned the hard way.
And this will help you with the ladies how??????? Most women can carless about a marathon runner they are not impressed by it. Typically marathon runners are unattractively thin, not wealthy, and unimpressive. Think of it this way you are introducing yourself as the running version of a guy that thinks women are interested in his pick-up basketball career!

If she’s truly carless, then she likely spends a lot of time traveling by foot and may be impressed by the marathon time. Otherwise, she may be a biker, in which case you should propose participating in a co-ed duathlon relay together.
To a non-runner or hobby-jogger, finishing a marathon is pretty elite. If you are insecure and want to people you're more than just a finisher, just say your time -- anything starting in "3" sounds fast to a non-runner.
To a real runner, 3:25 is not impressive. Do no say you are sub-elite if you are this slow, because a real runner will ask your times and it will be embarrassing that you overstated your abilities.
This is letsrun, where 2:09 to 2:12 is sub elite, anyone running over 2:12.0 is a hobby jogger.
I mean, a 2:12 doesn't get you anything these days unless it's in poor conditions or some random race with a small prize purse. People running 2:12 probably have more running related expenses than they do minimal prize money coming in. So ya 3:25 is definitely not 'sub-elite'
In my opinion, (for men) anything under 2:12 is elite, sub-elite is 2:12 - 2:25.
So, you're at least an hour off.
I tend to agree with that time range. Or to be stricter, people who make the marathon Olympic trials but don't have times that would get them to the Olympics.
In many marathons or HM's though, sub-elite simply means that the race will pay for your entry fee and put you in a corral up front at the starting line.
Sub-elite to me, at very least, means you didn't pay for your entry and likely got an invitation to make the race field more competitive and deep based on previous race results.
