1st sub-3:30s for the both Hoey and Myers. They were 3rd and 4th. Nader 2nd.
Can you link the results? Wow this is huge for Hoey, I know that everyone is running ridiculously fast in the 1500m, but this seems like a pretty big deal to me.

Agreed. Hoey’s new 3:29.75 PB is only .3 behind Kessler’s 3:29.45 PB.
And Hoey now moves past Sydney Maree into 5th on the all-time US list.
We have seen this song and dance plenty of time before... "young" Kenyan runner starts phenomenal times of nowhere, doesn't pass the sniff test. He will fade to obscurity as soon as he starts being tested.
Great run from Josh Hoey, was still a tiny bit skeptical of his performances, but if he keeps running fast with most certainly a lot more drug testing for him its more believable than ANOTHER no name "young" Kenyan out of nowhere... again.

His name is KOECH.
Yes he is young.
He comes from Kenya, like many Kenyans. You can find it in all good atlases. Its on the right side of Africa about half way down. So no he doesn't come from 'nowhere'.
Hoey 3:29.75 holy sh*t. He's not just a one trick pony. What a meteoric rise over the last year Is he a real contender in the 1500 now, or does this just mean that Hocker, Kessler, and Nuguse are about to run sub-3:27?
I still see Koech being able to be out-kicked... not explosive enough.
Certainly yes, but Nader is a pretty good kicker. He sustained his winning move well enough to keep the separation in the last 50 even as Nader gathered. I’d call him only a dark horse for a medal as the big 4 from Paris and Habz are clearly ahead.

3:29.75 doesn’t make you a real contender any more. Hocker and Nuguse are eyeing sub-3:28s on the circuit and Kessler is thinking he can break 3:29 and 3:46 soon.

Unfortunately, he is coached by Claudio Berardelli, like Wanyouni. Beradelli has his own blood testing machine in the camp to ensure that none of his athletes are quite glowing.

Apparently you haven't followed running very long... this has happened alot over the past 2 decades as well as age cheating. Only recently with AIU cracking down with testing more in Kenyan have seen more believable results. Not all Kenyans are cheating and some are definitely clean, Tim Cheruiyot I actually believe is clean as he consistently run results and as a world champion def under scrutiny and drug testing.
However, it would dumb to think there hasn't be a culture of PED use in Kenyan for a variety of factors: - running as means to make it out of poverty in a third world country - hard to reach the athletes in a third world country for out of competition testing - which makes it easier for agents, coaches, etc. to get have a relative unknown runner use PEDs pop some big times and then disappear having won enough money to now live comfortably
The more recent training advances i.e. norwegian method/double threshold training were influenced based on how the kenyans trained as marius bakken adjusted his training methods based on some of the findings study Kenyan runners. So that combined with a culture of corruption and drug use in the country is why we have seen Kenyan runners seemingly so dominant in the past.
I don't want to sound biased as any potentially clean kenyan runners, like tim c., i can be more of a fan of but lets not act like every kenyan runner that was unknown by the vast majority of the running community should given a free pass... especially with a history of age cheating in kenya as well.
