14 runners finished the men's Paris Diamond League 1500m today (6/20/2025). 13 of them set new lifetime bests, the one exception being Abel Kipsang in 6th, who missed his PB by 0.35 seconds. On average (including Kipsang), the 14 runners set a personal best by a whopping 2.2 seconds.
1. Habz - 1.77 second PB
2. Koech - 4.54
3. Mills - 2.59
4. Lagat - 3.03
5. Nillessen - 1.52
6. Kipsang - (0.35)
7. Szot - 1.52
8. Verhenden - 2.20
9. Tshi*e - 0.67 (couldn't spell his name out due to MB profanity detector)
10. Jocteur-Monrozier - 1.74
11. Mornet - 2.36
12. Anselmini - 3.83
13. Sisk - 3.27
14. Gilavert - 2.13
Obviously, a few runners were "due" for a personal best reset. Still, having nearly every runner in a Diamond League race - some of whom have been on the scene for quite a while - set a personal best by 2+ seconds is surprising, to say the least. Has there ever been a high level race with a greater all-around resetting of personal bests? Or any race for that matter (not just high-level races)?
