Buying wins lol isn't that what Furman does

Kudos to her. There's going to be a quiet majority here.

Surprised the whole paying agents to secure Kenyan commitments isn’t more of a big deal for people on this message board.
As I posted on another thread Rita Gary only cares about 5 of the 21 events in track and field (the distance events). People like her set a bad example that track and field is only the distance events. She should work on developing a complete track and field program. Why is this important? When other places see the easy way that Furman is doing track and field they think it's okay. Take Colorado who is cutting track and field coaches to just keep a distance program. That type of movement is not positive for the sport.

Somehow all these "clean" runners are slamming these super dopers from Africa.

She forgot to mention that they were literally pro athletes before joining the NCAA as 27 year old freshmen.
Coaches need to step up and vote to limit the number of internationals allowed per team. Or congress needs to take action.
NCAA eligibility center is a joke. Alot of these 27 year old foreign athletes have accepted prize money on the international circuit or domestically back home. Something needs to be done

Rita Gary is an as*hole but she is 100% correct on this.
It’s positive for the development of American distance running, which is being undercut by recruiting Kenyans. There must be a balance between all the events. The same could be send of the opposite end of the spectrum with schools cutting distance spots. For example, FSU is only burning back 5 distance runners as a hurdle coach is now at the helm. Is that good for the sport?
She makes her mission clear in a Citius article in which she says, "As it relates to what other programs are doing… I don't get to decide what they do, or what their values are, or what their ethics are. I got into coaching because I wanted to create an impact on 18 to 23-year-old people and I wanted to create an impact on U.S. distance running."

With the new roster limits being put in place the "complete track & field program" is most likely dead
The best parts of this twitter thread is the coach at Bama and her going back and forth and when Rob asks Rita to please get him off this tweet thread. Guessing Rob doesn’t know how twitter works and everyone could see. A shame making Furman look so bad because their 10,000 and especially their steepler ran great. Meanwhile, their women weren’t close to NCAA.
I will be rooting against Furman now.
She’s no leader.

A mark of a great leader is the willingness to speak up when it’s hard, stand up for their athletes, and do what’s right—even when it’s not popular.
It takes real courage to open yourself up to criticism, especially when personal attacks are used (far too often) as a way to derail honest, necessary conversations about change.
