I like him but why is kicking hard to try and win considered gutsy? He didn't lead a single step.
Totally agree. Because he was grimacing at the end and fell across the line? Don’t get me wrong he ran great but his run wasn’t any more “gutsy” than the other guys who finished near him.

Is no one else going to comment on how his arm was blatantly smacked by Brian Musau as he tried to pass at 100 to go? It's not a coincidence that he just blew up randomly. He lost momentum. Blatant impedance.
Far from perfect race. He ran most of it in lane 2. Ran A LOT of extra distance.
Too much concern here about getting on the rail. On the rail and finishing 9th not so interesting.
Langon put himself in position to win w/100m to go, and ran his pb in a championship race.
Still got 3rd ahead of his seeding.

It’s not one or the other. The perfect 5k race is running along the rail for at least 10 laps conserving as much energy as possible, then doing what you need to do to get in position the last 2.5 laps.
