Karsten's race was ridiculous and a world record on his home soil. He looked as if rocket booster engines turn on after clearing the last hurdle. Unreal.

As a matter of fact, Karsten's race is mentioned almost as a footnote on the bottom-left of the home page. There are like 10 stories above it.

US website that focuses on US distance running and there was a US 5k record.
A multitude of reasons. It is not a highly competitive or widely followed discipline. It has been three contenders for the last few years. Here in Norway, hardly a soul from Hammerfest to Lindesnes could have named a 300 or 400m hurdle runner prior to the rise of Warholm. It is now followed here because a Norwegian excells. Not surprisingly, however, the multitude of nationalities that frequent this site, including Americans, aren't as interest as are our compatriots. He broke his own record, which is not as exciting as taking down old records. This website is also, and always has been, oriented toward distance running.
I think that Karsten's race was a better performance than Young's but he is an american distance runner which is the centerpiece of this site although all kind of distance running is dicussed. The american bias doesn't bother me personally, it's a part of this site's history and culture (I'm from Finland).
Ha, when I saw and read the thread, I was like “wow! A new 400h world record…” Then I remembered the source, realized it was a 300h gimmick race and laughed at how stupid I was to get caught by one of Jamin’s late night manic troll threads. You got me…
Because Nico ran the 5000m and Karsten ran a USA high school event

Not a US website. Worldwide website
Karsten Warholm ran an unfathomable time and it deserves a lot of attention. To average 10.9 for 300m over hurdles?? He was running 43.6 400m pace over hurdles!! I know the piano drops on your back the last 100m, but it was still an insane performance. It looks like Rai's victory and Warholm's having a bit of a down period after his 45.93 400mH record has really given him the extra drive to get the title back. Still, this is a distance website centered in the U.S. and most of us have been following Nico Young since he started winning national titles in high school xc.
not a distance website. letsrun.com not letsrunmorethan5km.com

Have you seen some of the incredible hand times 10m dash, or running vertical on Walmart basketball hoop performances posted to this site? put Kirsten’s performance to shame.
Im not even gonna mention one armed bench on a smith machine.
A quick comparison of 300m/400m records. I think that Warholms record will stand for some time. Relatively it seems to be a bit weaker than Tebogo's record but still a very nice time.
400m 43,03 -> 10,76 per 100m (Van Niekerk)
300m 30,69 -> 10,23 per 100m (Letsile Tebogo)
0,53 s difference per 100m
400m hurdles 45,94 -> 11,49 per 100m
300m hurdles 32,67 -> 10,89 per 100m
0,50 s difference per 100m
Tebogo's record was set at 1300 m altitude which according to a conversion calculator gives ~0.04 s advantage per 100 m compared to sea level. So if we correct that it seems that his performance is roughly on par with Van Niekerk's 30.81 (10.27 s / 100m) which means that the 300m/400m delta is about 0.49 s/100m.
But yeah, the 300m hurdles record was a great performance!
Because he left Benjamin looking like a fool, like a FOOL!

Karsten beat all the best runners in the world. He averaged under 11 for each 100m, with hurdles which is INSANE. Dominated Rai Benjamin.
Nico didn't even race against the best. No Jakob, no grant Fisher.
Letsrun not Letshurdle.
pheobe?
Benjamin out there looking a little doughy in the midsection. No wonder he slowed so dramatically down the he stretch.
Warholm's race was more impressive, but it lacked the key narrative points to grab attention. Nico's performance was a fairly unexpected result that put his hat in the ring as a global medal contender. He's someone that this board has been following since he was in high school. Warholm did something remarkable but unsurprising, in a weird event, early in a world championship year. That's awesome, but not enough to make posters really stir. Plus the relatively high interest in distance events here.
