This thread is to pay your respects to Eliud. If you'd like to discuss the Covid vaccine and potential side effects do so here.
I did not find any news to confirm this or even support it. I hope that it is false.
There is literally nothing on X.com. Hopefully it's a scam, though that is pretty sick in itself. I find it hard to believe his passing would be announced solely on a GoFundMe page.
Seems like it is true.
Someone had reported earlier but later got deleted. It's true. RIP Eliud
A spokesperson from University of Alabama confirmed it based on Citiusmag post. I wondered what he had been up to since he hadn't raced in a while, and this is the last new news I wanted to see. Keep all those that were close to him in your prayers
Although we aren't sure of his real age, cardiac arrest at that young is not normal. Definitely gone too soon and sad for those that were close to him.
NOTE: Not trying to speculate anything, just stating a fact.

Same thing happen in 2003 to David Kimani who also ran for alabama.

Definitely not normal. Things like congenital arrhythmias/heart defects, dehydration, Wolff Parkinson white syndrome, rhabdomyolysis, asthma attacks, anaphylaxis, heat stroke, and food poisoning can all cause cardiac arrest.

He hadn’t run in the NCAA since 2023. Do you expect the NCAA to test runners two years after their graduation?
There is a clear scientific correlation between doping and heart attacks.

Terribly sad no matter the cause. Especially in light of the economist article earlier this week.
I can't find any race results from him in 2024 or 2025.
