Obviously there will be variation by person but what would the ideal weight look like for a 6 foot tall runner? Is there a physiological right answer and what is the distribution among the pros?

2 ibs x your height in inches plus or minus 10. Or 110 pounds for the first 5 feet of your height plus 5 ibs for every inch over 5 foot. So based on this, 134 to 170 pounds is a good range to aim for. Most good runners around 6 foot are around 150 ibs.
A rough guide is your height in inches multiplied by 2, in pounds. So, 6 feet is 72 inches x 2 = 144 pounds. Somewhere around that is a good weight for you.
The lightest weight at which you can stay healthy and function normally. To many athlets getting red s, eating disorders, weight obsessions that f their private lifes and sometimes hunt them even after their running carreers. Eat for performance not the scales!
I am 37, 5'10, 135-140 lbs. 30-35 mpw. I think 125-130 would be optimal but, which is what I weighed in high school, but I would have to eat very clean and somehow reduce water weight.

That's the dumbest thing I've read. 4'10" would be 116lbs while 6'6" would be 156lbs. One is not like the other.

What a dumb post. Completely depends on the event and physiology of the person. Probably anywhere from 130-190
Literally anything. There's elite male runners that are healthy and fast at weights from 130-200. Jakob and Josh Kerr would be 75kg, whilst Gary Martin might be 65kg. Same story on the women's side. May be more of an issues for marathons but being able to maintain training because of some extra mass will outweigh short term benefits of being lighter with increased injury risk.

There is none. Try to manipulate your weight while training at a high level is recipe for disaster. You need to be fueled for the training. It's impossible to be "overweight" when running 80-110 mpw. Focus on the training, and eat a ton when you're hungry.
A male teammate of mine in high school died from an eating disorder. It's the worst hell I've seen anybody go through. You don't want to go down that road.

There's a book on this, Racing Weight by Matt Fitzgerald. Tells you how to calculate your racing weight and how to get there.
