I just don't get it. Going to the gym is such a me-time experience that bringing along your girlfriend seems like something that could hold you back. What am I missing here?

I know. Imagine doing something that wasn't completely self-centred.
Sorry, got to go - just spotted a mirror.

There isn't much to "get" -- I like to work out alone, and I also like to work out with my girlfriend.
Similar to watching a good movie or going on a beautiful hike, I can and enjoy it by myself, and certainly also enjoy doing it together with a beautiful, smart and funny person who I love.. 🤷♂️
Sounds like you've never been in a relationship as ours! Sorry about that, but you will be some day!

To defatten their indefatigable GFs.
I go to the weight room with my whole track team. Should I tell the coach that I need everyone else to go away because this is supposed to be my me time?
Maybe we get along so good because we both want to stay in shape.

Not everyone is you. Your arrogance is showing.
The idea that YOUR way is the RIGHT way is so narcissistic.

Interesting you mention bc this is a dispute between my friend and her boyfriend. She wants to go together bc she’s not motivated to work out, but he likes to go earlier before she gets off work. He also takes less time (does weights only) so he’s always waiting for her to finish her cardio.
Personally, I’m fine going by myself unless my significant other can also be occupied for the entire time.
Because they know how lucky they are to have a girlfriend who supports their fitness goals.
I'm a woman so I can't claim expertise, but I always assumed if you brought another dude along you'd have to fight each other or something.

OP, who do you ask to spot you when you go to the gym alone?
Or do you not lift enough to need a spotter?
You`d have to be gay to workout with your girlfriend! No Friends? Chump? Little Man? I had to have "4 of my boys" just to spot my benchpress! I had no place in the Gym for Women! And when my boys got out of line and got loud on me I`d have to put a beating on them . ... All of them!
Missing a girlfriend?

This, too.
I may be with OP. I’m married but like the time I have to myself at the gym and quick glances at other women without her scolding me. Couples that do workouts together kinda has a cucking vibe. The gym is so primal.

You’re missing the self awareness that you are an incel.
