A woman signed her husband up for a marathon with 24 hours notice after he bragged he could complete 26.2 miles without any training. The 32-year-old successfully completed the marathon.
Guess his time.
I'll reveal it at 11:00 am ET.

I mean, that's kind of impossible to guess without knowing *something* about his....
okay fine, 4:51.
Any training history or personal best? Some former D1 30 min 10k runner who is still running 50-60 miles a week to stay in shape is very different from a coach potato definition of no training.
3:87 (267 minutes)

Yeah, without any other details it's kind of pointless. Former runner? At what level? Is he obese? Does he do other sports, e.g. cycling? All of this could sway the answer by multiple hours.
Without any other info, I'll go with 4:58.26

Idk I'm gonna say 4:20
Untrained people get in marathons for a variety of reasons. They are in the 5h 30m to 6h 30m range, depending on how fast they do the walking parts of their 26.2. Husband in this quiz is one of them. Not sure why his exact time is of interest to runners.
With no other info (non-running physical activities, current weight, HS and college athletic background, marathon course difficulty and weather, etc.), it could be anywhere from 3:30 to 6:30.
The midpoint of that is 5 hours, so that'll be my guess.
3:27. I’m making the assumption he’s somewhat athletically gifted.
My daughter in college just did this with a half marathon. I thought she was crazy, but to my surprise she managed to break 2 hours running with friends who did train somewhat. Now, she’s going to actually train for her next one.
If he is an average guy, but not too fat there still will be a lot of walking. I’m going with 7:12.
The marathon is the weakest of the running events. Pretty much every varsity college XC runner could go 2:30 if they felt like running one. A 32 year old Joe Blow could go 4:00 if he has a modicum of fitness.
There was already a thread on this but I guess you deleted it to make it look like you didn't repost something that had already been discussed. You do it all the time.

I'm going to say 5 hours and 58 minutes.
It's going to be fast (3:18) but will turn out he used to run alot and is a cyclist or something

I like “coach potato!”
Seen a few of those. Obese, rotund, smokes, boils over easily.
Well? We're waiting
