Ties Carolina Kluft at #2 with 7032 points. Only Kersee's 7291 from the '88 Olympics surpasses it.
Previous best was 6615
CONGRATS TO ANNA HALL ON THE CLEAN WORLD RECORD!
2:01 at the end of a hep is extremely impressive.
She scored 6988 in 2023 at Gotzis
She is back to where her promise seemed to point before getting injured. Improving her 100h could add more; in not sure about other areas. When you go over 7000 there isn't a lot low hanging fruit

Holy crap!!
And JJK's record was with the previous javelin, correct?
She may become the WR holder in the next couple of years.
She ran a 51.68 400m last month and a 2:01 at the end of this hep? I know this is awful but: would love to see her in an open 800. Wouldn't be surprised to see her run high-1:58

Plus she’s also a swimsuit model now.
13.19 100 meter hurdles, previous best 12.75.
23.37 200 meter dash, previous best 22.88.
IMHO can go 2 meters in the high jump, started at 1.74 meters which meant she had to clear 8 heights to get to 1.95m. She should've started at 1.80m, and she took no jumps at 1.98m after clearing 1.95m.
Injury in the long jump set her progression in that event back and probably won't get much better then 6.44m this year, but had the potential to go 7 meters before the injury.
Sure looks like low hanging fruit to me!

her best using every single PR in the heptathalon is 7260, the WR is 7291 so she needs to develop a bit more on the power side while keeping fast to get there
The old Jav would not help non-specialists.
Incredible comeback, incredible athlete!! So happy she is healthy and on the world stage again.
I just watched the replay of D2 of the Gotzis meeting. Athletics at its finest. Wish I can travel to Austria next year to watch it live.
Anna Hall’s overall performance was just incredible. Her 800m was a piece of anthology!
If she trained exclusively for the 400 or 800 could she make a US team?

What exactly does “a piece of anthology” mean?

She is an incredible athlete. IMHO, she is also the hottest female track athlete. I can’t think of any current track athlete that is hotter than Anna.
It's interesting to compare Hall & Kluft's marks here, Day 1 they were virtually identical, the key differences being Day 2, in particular the LJ & 800m. But also good to compare to JJK's WR:
Hall / Kluft / JJK
13.19 / 13.15 / 12.69
1.95 / 1.95 / 1.86
14.86 / 14.81 / 15.80
23.37 / 23.38/ 22.56
6.44 / 6.85 / 7.27
46.16 / 47.98 / 45.66
2:01.23 / 2:12.56 / 2:08.51
As mentioned earlier, Hall has previously been much faster over the hurdles & 200m, if she can get back to that form she will be over 7100. In terms of untapped potential, it's of course the LJ & JT where she can certainly improve. And the LJ in particular is best to focus on as this is where you can pick up a lot of points. Based on her Gotzis marks, if she improved by 3m to 49.16 in the JT, she would gain another 58 pts, however, if she could get to 6.74 in the LJ, that's another 100 pts. If she could get near Kluft's LJ mark she would be adding another 134 pts.
It's the same with the SP. She is at a great level now, and whilst anything further would of course be great, if she threw an extra meter and went out to 15.86, she'd 'only' gain 67 pts. And the work & strength needed to get that extra 1 meter would potentially be detrimental to her other events. So her focus should absolutely be about nailing that LJ, and regaining some of that lost speed for the hurdles & 200m.
This is a big wake up call for Thiam. It feels like we are in that transition period again, as we were in 2008 when Kluft moved on, and in 2016 when Thiam took over from Ennis. It would appear we are entering Hall's era now, and whilst I've no doubt Thiam and KJT will be competitive, it would appear the gold & future is Hall's to lose. Thiam has no more to gain, so let's see how motivated she is. KJT does seem motivated, because of her 'lost years', but unfortunately her age is such that she will never score the 7000+ she could have.
I'm not sure who is coming through that can challenge Hall in the immediate future other than those two. Vanninen looked good indoors, so maybe her, but her basic speed is still lacking. Germany's Sandrina Sprengel, just turned 21, came through to win Ratingen last year aged just 20, with 6260. She was 7th in the Euro Indoor pentathlon, so might be a future force.
I hope you are SUED for such libel ! JJK happens to be a friend of Anna and BIG SUPPORTER.
