Pretty impressive, let Blade go out a bit (71/2:27) but caught her by 1200 in 3:42 then just sat as both ran about 75 s laps and finished with a ~67 final 400. Nice lift at the end.

Kinda misleading thread title. Hasay's victory was the state MEET record, not the all time CIF record. Hanne is third and Rylee is fifth all time.

Blade and Thompson had to lap like 3 runners - one in the middle and 2 at the end.

Summer Wilson was dying on lap 2. Big mistake going with Blade. I don’t think Thompson was really sit and kick, it was more catch up and hold on. Quite a day for her with a 2nd in the 16 and winning the 32.

She won this race as a freshman. Her name seemed to drift off from main conversation the last couple of years, but congrats to her for staying in it:

This is more accurate vs the account above. Thomsen played catch up and hold on for life.

Up and down season for Summer Wilson IMO. She had some tough races earlier in the season. She did well to finish where she finished after she went out likely a bit too hard with Rylee Blade. I hope she makes a big jump for this upcoming fall x-country season.

The first lap, Summer was within a half second. The rest of the field was 2+ seconds back.
