Staying at hotel up the street from UNF, teams coming in today. Definitely feel some gravitas around the Tenn. coaches. Don't suppose anybody can give a name on the following...Talking to a coach and OSU came up, I thought there was a foreign woman, 8 or 8/15, who made NCAA outdoor finals 1 or 2 years, graduated around 2 years ago, but think I got the school wrong. I want to say she was from England, maybe it was another Midwest school. I would know the name if I saw it. Very pretty if that helps lol.

Yeah, I think he mentioned her. No it wasn't her. She had a more 'traditional' first name. I was so positive it was OSU but sounds like not.

Almost without exception, Tennessee athletes, a coach and support staff are all nice and quite talkative, and pleasantly surprised to talk to someone who knows a little about track. Much the opposite with Vandy, talking about athletes only.

lol Me, and I would say little is rather accurate. Enthusiasm wise, in terms of enjoying it, I'd say I score quite a bit higher. But in talking to one of the coaches, I was able to bring up names from 10 years ago and give my opinions on strengths and weaknesses, enough so to get their more knowledgeable insight on same. It was great. I know basketball and I did some sportswriting and was pretty good at interviewing, and I'm excited to talk to anyone more expert on really any sport, and able to learn a lot.

Too bad the majority of the Tennessee staff doesn’t care about their athletes or their well being. They care more about their status.

That’s why the distance coaches cut everyone or forced them into the portal to gravitate to a strictly foreign team. Extremely sad stories I’ve heard from the current athletes. One of the male coaches told the athletes that he “never wants to see their face again”

Dorenkamp's departure is unfortunate for AL. She would've been key for the Tide making a WVU-like run for top spoils at XC Nats this Fall

That's sad if true about distance group. They are making a push to improve there. Newly added mid D/D coach has coached 2 pretty successful women pros, while they were in college. Talked to 1 male distance runner who spent 4 years in ACC before joining Tenn this season. He said it's a great atmosphere, and like the others I talked to this week, impressed me.
