What a triple!
LetsRun co-founder Robert Johnson made the classic rookie mistake of not looking to see if there was already a thread on this topic. There was. So we have merged them together.
What a triple!

There was a girl who did something similar, I believe her name was Erin Donoghue?
But this triple is amazing! 1:49 is no joke
That is a nice triple - takes me back to my college days of running and throwing javelin.
Interestingly, with my college bests of 4:03 1500/4:20 mile and 53 meters in the javelin, I always scored better in my conference meet (NAIA) in the javelin than any of my running events. Probably way less competition in javelin than most running events in lots of conferences.
But as others have said, the 1:49 800 is way better than either the 1600 or javelin marks. As a fan it would be cool to see him continue both in college, but hard to say how likely that is.
Sounds like a modern day Nick Setta

Erin Donohue ran for UNC and threw the javelin back in the mid-2000s. Made the Olympic team at 1500m in 2008. Not sure how much throwing she did in college.
Had a kid do the same, 1600/800/TJ. Not those times but still state titles nonetheless. A kid the next class down won the 100/1600/3200 & 4 x 400. His teammate won the 200/400/800/4 x 400. Pretty much wiped up the track races. And yes, that 100 is correct and not a typo!
1:49.64??? Faster than Glenn Cunningham's world record in 1936? I know how he ran that and it was not the shoes.
Great triple! OK I got the 4:18/1:49, but what was the result in the javelin?
Since we're on wild triples I've got three to share from back in the day.
1971 Dale Bateman, Laurel, MD 1971 Prince George’s County Champs (Wash DC)
1 mile 4:14.5 (1st)
880 1:56.0 (1st)
Triple jump 42-7.5 (2nd)
All yards, so figure 4:12.9/1:55.2/13.00m. He went to Naval Academy.
1973 Dave Sandridge RIP, Parkdale MD, 1973 Atlanta Track Classic in 90 minutes
1 mile 4:15.4 (1st, fell down after the 1st lap, laid flat until the field jumped over then got up and won)
880 1:53.9 (2nd)
2 mile 9:06.4(1st)
Again yards so figure 4:13.8/1:53.1/9:03.2 in 90 minutes falling down after a lap in the mile.
Sandridge was the guy who broke Marty Liquori's Van Cortlandt Park XC record. Went to Villanova, then to Maryland.
Then there's this epic quadruple:
1983 Rodney Giles, Northern, 1983 Maryland State Championships (5 hours)
4 x 800 1:46.7 (1st) Wiping out a 120m deficit.
1600 4:17.8 (1st)
400 47.8 (1st)
800 1:51.0 (1st)
I think Giles ended up at Pitt. While he didn't run up to others expectations, I think he was very happy at Pitt.
It is worth noting that the previous 800m record had been set in 1984 (41 years ago!) by the 1992 Olympian Terrance Herrington.

West Florence senior Kevin Burroughs (sic) delivered a historic finish when it mattered most. At the South Carolina Class 5A Division II State Track and Field Championships, held May 15–17 at Spring Valley High School in Columbia. Burroughs shattered a 41-year-old state record in the 800 meters — propelling his team to its first state championship title.
Burroughs clocked 1:49.64, a personal best, and a time that broke Hartsville’s Terrence Harrington time of 1:52.04 set in 1984. Burroughs added to his historic day by winning the 1,600 ( 4:18.18) and javelin (184-4) titles. West Florence finished with 75 points to claim the state title.
Super impressive. I've never heard of a guy doing the 800 / 1600 / javelin triple before. Although maybe Erin Donohue did it back in the day for the women?
If you read a website called LetsRun once in a while, you would have heard if him.
Rojo, you're a week late. But there's a thread on raccoons in the basement, or was that snakes on a plane?
His name is Kaleb
very impressive accomplishment!
At the NJ State Group level - on three occasions Erin Donohue won the 800, 1600, 3200 and Javelin. At the NJ Meet of Champions (all State Groups combined) her senior year she won the 1600 and 3200 and placed 2nd in javelin.
I was there, almost outkicked him at region😂
