Europe was the first region to undergo industrialization, a process that brought economic and technological advancements. We should be extending these benefits to the Global South by providing financial incentives for communities to preserve their ecosystems instead of exploiting them, as the "superior" Europeans have done.
While colonialism has arisen in various forms throughout history, European colonial powers exerted influence over nearly 80% of the world’s land during their peak. This is why it is a focal point rather than Arab or Aztec invasions.
