Exactly that, I got results from the lab this week and I just
don't really know what any of it means...My long-term goal is a a sub-3
marathon and I just finished my 3rd week (12 week program) of formal
training. Any insight will be exceptionally well received! Thank you
59.5 VO2 max | 4.102 L/min
Max heart rate 184
Weight: 69 kilos
Height 173 cms
Male, 38 years old
L1 occurred at 39.6 (67% of VO2 max reached) during 9.9 minutes of exercise with 153 BPM and 13 km/hr at 1% incline.
L2 occurred at 56.2 (95% of VO2 max reached) during 18.1 minutes of exercise with 178 BPM and 17.1 km/hr at 1% incline
VO2 max achieved was 4.102 L/min or 59.5 mL/kg/min with RQ of 1.11
The lab's heart zone recommendations:
Zone 1 (no lactate): up to 153bpm
Zone 2 (endurance): 153-161bpm
Zone 3 (tempo): 161-169bpm
Zone 4 (threshold): 169-178bpm
Zone 5 (anaerobic): heart 178bmp+
Are these zones correct!? Zone 2 seems super high to me? The
examiner explained that based on my results, I can endure a much higher
pace than what I had been doing (I had thought 6:00 km/hr pace was zone
2, and heart BMP would average 131).
Again, really appreciate your insight! I am just a rookie
