Considering that it’s Clinger’s first time racing further than 10k, and that he demolished Klecker and Bor over the last 1.5 miles and that he is now training with Mantz and Young, I think his future in the marathon is bright. Good luck Casey, I hope to see 3 BYU alumni on the 2028 US Olympic Marathon Team.

Really stoked. I know he had been planning to run marathons after going pro. But after the Ten, I was concerned he'd try to focus on track and delay his move to the marathon. After making 18.5k in 8 days though I think it's starting to really make sense for him financially, becoming an AR holder, and racing a distance as long as 25k. I would be really excited to see him in a marathon potentially this fall.

just got back from doing some research. he graduated high school in 2017 and was still running for BYU as recently as march 29th, 2025
