I'm all for not rushing the teen phenoms, but this strikes me the wrong way.
If you don't want the pressure of the big-time, run junior meets.
Here they want the fame and publicity (and $$) of the big-time but are running a JV race?

I dare him to race those Texas boys but he’s too scared.
He's 17 debuting in Diamond League, I'm sure he will move up later in the season.
Picture a world where you get clout for false starting. That's Australian Athletics for you.
How is it a DL debut when it's not a DL event?
It is a Diamond League event.
Yeah, even as an Australian I don't really like this. He's running pro times, why not just race against the pros? Only good can come from running against 19.7-19.9 guys in a non-championship race.
He can't keep his image as unbeatable for much longer.

And what's crazy is, he HIMSELF is a 19.8 man. Albeit wind-aided, but if you converted it back to a 2.0 m/s tailwind that's still a 19.8. Hopefully there's some good comp for him at Ostrava

I give props to that New Zealand miler kid who came over to the States to take on our best. He has guts. Gout has no guts.
