I’m a big fan of Justyn’s but I don’t see him ever returning to the form he was once in. At least not under Jerry. BTC (or swoosh) has been in shambles the last few years. Nobody is running well. Lots of injuries. I just don’t think Jerry is the right coach for Justyn. Justyn was lightly trained his entire career. Not a good fit for Schumacher’s training.
We gotta bunch of keyboard warriors giving half-baked takes and throwing shade at Justin. Same type of vibe we had when Centro would open in 3:40/41 and roll a nice season.

Talent doesn’t go away.
Talent may not go away, but talent alone is not enough. It takes training as well. Losing 4 years in your peak years may be tough to make up. He not too old, but he is getting closer each year to past peak age for the 5k

To be clear, though, I’m not in the camp that thinks this was a bad effort. Depends on how much training he has behind him and what his goal was

For sure, but the endless anonymous posters maligning athletes for not running PR’s every race, all season, is tiresome. I’m not even a huge Knight fan but it’s awesome to see him back racing, improving and putting himself out there. It’s MAY. He’s a 5000m guy whose best is 3:33. He probably hasn’t stacked speed work much at this point. Just let the guy build. If someone is running their mouth and calling shots about an upcoming race, and then they lay an egg - sure, I’m all for calling them out. I’ve been on letsrun for 24 years… Bit it’s really tiresome to see posters shyte on guys coming back from injury or starting off their season and labeling them as “done” etc etc.
