Quincy glazers about to "Well the 800 isn't his main event" until their last breath
He didn’t perform well. He ran a 1:50 last year in the open 800, so who knows whats up but again, thats track. Like baseball, just one meet or event can humble you, and thats okay.

Feels like he is a hair off compared to last year. It happens. Or for all I know he is aiming to peak in July this year instead of like may last year…
A friend of mine just sent me video of the anchor leg. I'm going to see if I have permission to use it.
I'm sure he's fine. I do think he races a tad but too much, but what do I know.
Last year during indoor Bullis took a swing at the national indoor record in the 4x800. Wilson ended up running 2:00 on anchor. I figure the amount of time between that race and OTs last year is probably about the same as this race and USAs this year, so it seems like he is in the same place. Just a guess though.
I'm a St. Albans parent (who didn't have a runner in this race) and want to give a shout out to Quincy Wilson for competing in his HS league championship meet and running in what isn't his main event. Probably no upside for him personally to compete, and yet he was there for his HS team. I know it was a thrill for St. Albans to compete against the Bullis team of Quincy and teammates (all great runners, including Colin Abrams with a 1:51.3 split) and it resulted in an amazing HS league championship race in which both teams beat the prior IAC meet record and posted top 70 national times. Huge kudos to Charlie Palmore, a junior at St. Albans and the anchor leg, who had the heart and speed to not give up when he was about 60m back on an Olympian with 500m to go, and seniors Sebi Hume, Liam Quinn, and Laszlo Wolfe. it was an amazing race to watch!
Seems like this dude runs at new meets like every other day. I respect it but hope he doesn't burn out
He's in HS. They do run meets 2x a week. Not great for peaking, but super normal. It definitely tamps down your development for a spell. Look to see him improve when track is over!

Exactly.
Pros don't have to run 6 races a week in April and May.
I agree with this. Definitely seems a little off, but would not be surprised in the slightest if he's simply aiming to peak for USAs/Worlds this year. I wouldn't worry until June comes around.
I really don't understand how he runs 2:00. He's a 44s 400 guy who runs 45/46 consistently on " bad" days. 2:00 for an 800 should be a jog - this is not like asking him to jump into a 2 mile and run 9:20 or anything
There are a lot of untalented HS kids who run 2:00 - none of them are running sub 46 in the 400.
Does he just not know how to pace these? Honestly confused.
Every time Quincy Wilson loses, Rojo creates a thread to point it out. I’m starting to think Rojo loves seeing the kid lose.
Not true. I think he deserves GREAT praise for still running his league meets and for running a 4 x 800.
As for him being a future Olympic or Worlds gold medallist, I'm on record saying I have serious doubts.
I just thought this was a fascinating result.
The text I got included a text that basically went like this:
"Nice to meet you Quincy. You run HS track? How has the last year been for you?"
"Pretty good. I got the gold at the Olympics on the relay but was bummed to only get the silver at HS league meet."
....
I wouldn't say an individual of his caliber losing is a fascinating result, interesting 🤔 maybe. What prompted me to respond:
Wejo stating, "As for him being a future Olympian or World gold medalist, he went on record saying he have serious doubts".
While every have they opinion, why would you doubt that a 400m teenager with a PB of 44.20 would NEVER make the Olympic Team or World Gold. You do realize he already have one GOLD 🥇 Medal from the 4 x 400m relay.
So please tell us what do you see or don't see in his ability to make such a bold negative statement about his future that could span another 3-4 Olympics, Wejo?

💥 I reposted and corrected my post to address the properly person which is Rojo and not Wejo.💥
