Seen some discussion about it being a warm day and also about some underwhelming performances but I want to suggest that most of the poor results were directly from the weather conditions. The weather apps didn't do it justice - the fact is that when you come to London in April you expect an overcast day and hope it doesn't rain, yesterday there wasn't a cloud in the sky and it was very humid too (actually misty until about 9:30/10).
Many athletes, especially the fairer skinned ones were completely unprepared for this hence some disappointing performances especially from those who should have been in the 2:06-10/2:20-25 range. Obviously there were those who were better prepared since both winners were both incredibly impressive.
Basically, as a Brit I need some copium to believe we have more than one male capable of running under 2:10.
Would be interested to hear what others think/tell me I'm a p***y for being afraid of some sunshine
