Watching the replay on YT now. Very happy for Maier. Amazing how deep American marathoning has become recently. I count 7 guys under 2:09 in the last 6 or so months. Mantz, Young, Simbassa, Richtman, Ford, Albertson, Maier. Definitely a step in the right direction.
Nice to see them go to a medium sized race and practice covering moves and winning races rather than just going to London to collect a paycheck when you’re not ready to compete at the front there yet.
good day for Alistair’s Puma athletes there. 2:09 for former Tulsa man Peter Lynch, new Irish marathon record. Wasn’t too aware of him but formerly 13th + 12th at NCAA XC a couple years ago.
So Fiona O'Keefe was also running this. Came through 35k in 2:01 but no time after that. Appears to have DNF.
Jonathon- can you find out what happened? Injury? Planned to not run the whole distance (which would be weird going across the world for a glorified training run)? I suspect health related given the elephant in the room but would be nice to get an official statement.

She was a pacer. She has an Instagram story up for the next few hours that shows her kit with a PACE bib.

Thanks for mentioning that the full race even exists on YouTube — I wouldn‘t have even looked for it, but it is THERE!
Not sure how long it will be up, but user is D.SPORTS and it is has the german commentators (incl jan fitschen).
I am watching it now! (Since apparently, there is no london marathon to watch without a silly flotrack subscription.)
Great run for Maier, definitely showing his fitness compared to that 2:11 at Chicago. Hopefully he can go to a major later this year and do well?
Chicago promises to be blazing fast if Korir is in it, and Berlin is always too. NYC would probably be a true race, and you’d think Kamworor, Abdi, Tola, Chebet would be there. Interested in what they’re looking for him because there’re other opportunities for running fast or winning than the obvious alternatives of Amsterdam, Valencia etc.
