Yee would win. He's faster than Morgan Pearson, who did a 1:01:01 half marathon..faster than Jacob. He went out too fast, but if he couldn't pace himself for a half, he will certainly run into problems in a full.
Alex, and it wouldn't be close. I have no doubt that Jakob will be a world class marathoner if and when he decides to make that transition, but his current training does not lend itself to that (see Copenhagen HM attempt). He has the talent and the potential, but Alex's training more closely aligns with marathon fitness present day.

I am posting the same comment as the previous two guys... Yee would win right now but Jakob will be better and faster if/when he trains for the marathon.
Yee is no stranger to running. A British 10,000m champion, he’s represented his country at international level and counts Kenyan great Eliud Kipchoge among his inspirations. But while he hopes to get around the course in double quick time, he knows this is a very different challenge to those he’s faced at the pinnacle of triathlon. He explained: “My plan is to go through halfway with a nice group, stay calm and do the best I can to enjoy and see what I can achieve. It’s an honest sport, marathon. “You can’t come in here without having done the work. I’d like to think a bit of my triathlon training will convert to that. But I know it won’t have the same bearing that hard long miles will have on the legs. “With London, my biggest competitor is myself. Just trying to achieve what I’d like to achieve. What I’m training to achieve.”
I'm going to take a little more extreme position that Yee would beat win now, but would also beat him if they both were focused on the marathon. I just think Yee's body type is going to take it at distances further than 13.1.
Right now, with current training, Yee. But Geb, Bekele and Kipchoge were all world record holders and/or world champs at 5K and they were all pretty good in the marathon. Jakob's ceiling is potentially a lot higher.

Alex is right, for now. If Jakob trained for it, he most likely has more upside.
There is absolutely nothing to read into Jakob in Copenhagen. He picked up a giant appearances fee, had a nice weekend in the city with his brother and set easy Norwegian record for 10k on the road, before jogging in the rest of the race.
This was a fun lucrative post season day for Jakob, not a serious half attempt. Don't know why people bring this up.

People bring it up because it was marketed as his half marathon debut. Whatever his actual goal was that race, the media spin is why folks have lower expectations for him now beyond 10k. He "disappointed" according to what the public was told.

Well they were not lying at least. Generating interest for the race is why they paid him.
A debut of course means first try, no claims to it being serious or fast.

Yes sure officially it was his half marathon debut but it was off of zero specific half marathon training. You also probably don’t realise when he ran it - at the very end of the Olympic year, only a few weeks after he obliterated the 3000m WR and only 2 days after he ran and won the Brussels Diamond 1500m in 3:30.
Perhaps we should see how fast Yee runs in London before we get taken away.
As far as I can see the two of them have competed against each other twice:
In the Euro U20 X country 2016 The RISING star JAKOB INGEBRIGTSEN - Men's U20 Race | European Cross Country Championships Chia 2016
Where Jakob at age 16 SMOKED more than 2.5 years older Yee with 29 seconds in a 6.150m. (Yee lost possibly a little more than 5 seconds due to a fall).
In the DL london 5000m in 2019 Yee avoided a fall but still finished more than 21 seconds behind Jakob.
Yee ran 28:07 in the Valencia 10k early this year. That time doesn´t bode well for a fast marathon.
What are Yee's PB at 5K /10K vs Jakob's if that is any indication?
AS I stated in my post above Yee ran 28:07 in Valencia (fast course) earlier this year. He has run high 27 in the 10000m.
Jakob ran a split 10k in the 27:20s (as far as I remember; I can´t find the time right now) in his failed HM in Copenhagen last autumn. BUT.................. he can probably run much faster if he is fully rested and prepared. He easily beats competitors who has run around 26:50 in the 10k, including Swedish Almgren (who often train with Jakob) and Almgren is also certain that Jakob is significantly faster than him in the 10k.
In the 5000m there are 12:48 to 13:23 but both are possibly faster now. Jakob might be 15 seconds or more faster. That´s was his 7:17 WR in the 3000m indicates.
I don’t know, but Yee would be scorched on the track, and that’s all that matters. A marathon would probably be Yee’s best distance and Ingebrigtsen’s worst. Yee would be likely to win, but he ain’t making any Olympic team at any distance.

I checked his world athletics profile, his 10k PB remains 27"54 (2019).
I thought the 10k mark was official in the Copenhagen HM, but it appears that this is not the case, unfortunately.

He went out to fast because he was going to follow the lead group. It was also the same weekend as a much more important track meet. I also think Yee would win btw.
