Senior in highschool and it is almost time to decide where I want to go to college. I have a couple more races left including my district and state meet (maybe nationals?). I reached out to some coaches at the schools I would want to run varsity for. The schools in question are Penn State, Michigan State, and university of pittsburgh. The one school I could run for is Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) but is the most expensive out of the 4 (going to see if i can get more aid). Anyways, I reached out and got the walk on standards from the coaches at penn state and pitt. The Pitt standards seem more attainable. They also gave me the most money out of 4 schools and my grandpa and dad went there, so I'm inclined to go there aswell. However I want the chance to compete in college and while there is club, I want to push myself to be the best and make varsity.
So, is this going to be impossible with the whole NCAA V house case? I'm not fully educated on it, but from what I have read it seems like it. Hopefully someone more educated can speak on this. If the answer is yes, do you think even if I competed unattached and ran well, the team wouldn't be able to pick me up? Hopefully you guys can answer these questions, anything helps!
