I'm geniunely curious, a 2:35 is pretty shocking. Was thinking she'd be around 2:25 but not this far off. Her Strava seems like she had a decent build, but now this is 2 consecutive poor performances in the marathon with Ed Eyestone as coach, and has not ran a strong marathon since 2022 (although some decent shorter race performances). Does anyone have intel on what's going on with her?
I saw Ed eyestone downplayed her chances but I gotta say this is a really bad performance. I know she broke her foot at Chicago but It seems like she can’t keep keep her body healthy anymore. Looked like she was limping as she crossed the finish line. Sad to see
I mean this as respectfully as possible, but I hope this is the last time she's listed as a contender for a major marathon. I know she is a fan favorite, but when I saw on ESPN that she was listed over several other American runners, I was shocked! She had a great story but it may be time to move on.
Could it be that she will be 41 in October? Maybe age has caught up with her.
I speculated in a different post that I think she has some personal things going on. I'm guessing a divorce based on her social media content lately. I know this isn't appropriate to say but her body looks different too. Her lower half seems shaped different. This is also a sign of high stress in women.

Some people have bad races. Sometimes they string together a few bad races.

Keira is a great person but I’m not sure why she moved to Utah. She was having success but decided to chase the next greatest thing. She should have probably stayed in Virginia. Altitude is not for everyone. I strongly believe that there should be more sea level options for elite athletes that struggle at altitude.

Can you elaborate on changing lower half of her body? Are we talking more....thicc?
Like if my gf/wife gets more stressed will she become thiccer?
I think she had a bad race, that’s it. She will have a few more but also some good ones.
Will she ever hit the American record again? Probably not.
Utah is a beautiful state, I’d much rather love there too.
Eyestone is a great coach but his program doesn’t pull any punches, those athletes go HARD

How about the fact that she’s 40! And has been running and racing for over two decades. It takes a toll I think 2:35 is excellent for her.

But does that training work well for an older runner? Mantz is 28. Jared Ward is 36 and is done.

Disagree - if she wanted the world (including her kids) to know about a pending divorce then she would talk about it. I’m impressed she hung on to finish when it clearly was not her day. She is tough.
