One thing I've been interested in is whether the marathon will still be toward the end of the Games, since they're moving track to the first week. You have to go back to Mexico City 1968 for the most recent Games when track was in the earlier part of the schedule, and that year the marathon ended up in the middle of the Games. Just wondering since if they run the track events in the first week but keep the marathon at the end, it could facilitate some doubling that we might not see normally. Grant Fisher in the 10,000 / marathon double???
Still working out the details, but the plan is for the finish to be down the street from Rich's house, where celebratory beers will be available for the participants.
california will clean (hide) up their massive homeless population for a few weeks and then stop caring after that. On a related note why the heck would anyone be homeless in new york, chicago, atlanta, and other cities when california is a paradise for the homeless? Great weather, lots of free goodies, and failing La La Land Fantasy policies.

The first organized marathon took place at the 1896 Olympics in Athens, Greece. The race drew inspiration from an ancient Greek legend about a messenger who ran from the town of Marathon to Athens, a distance of roughly 25 mi...
I really hope that they go up into the Hollywood Hills. I would LOVE a Paris style course. Paris had 1437 feet of elevation gain. I would love to see a 1500 foot elevation gain course, hit the Hollywood walk of fame, hit the Griffith Observatory, with a similar descent and maybe finish at Dodger's stadium or even pass Dodger's stadium and finish at the Laker's stadium.

I tried to do a course from Venice to Hollywood/Highland, hitting the Observatory, and ending at Dodger Stadium, but it was 28 miles.
I made one that goes, Venice, Hollywood/Highland/Dodger Stadium/and ends at the Coliseum.
If the map shows up, it is 26 miles, final 0.2 can be improvised.
