Always seems too many great African athletes die tragically. But the Sudanese Sandstorm definitely left his mark on the sport.

He was second fiddle to Rudisha for much of his career but loved how he would always get out aggressively and attack, and part of the memorable 2012 final of course.
Terrible news, he surely had resources to get himself and immediate family out of Sudan but must have had good reasons to stay and I respect that decision. Shouldn't cost anyone their life.
