I understand the tactical thinking behind this race but you don’t come to arcadia to just sit and kick. I mean seriously some dudes travel half the globe for this meet, yet this is how they decided to race. The winning time could've easily been 8:30 or under with a field that deep, with top 10 under 8:40.

At the end of the day its a competition. Unless they start putting rabbits in these races like the diamond league you never know what will happen. Thats racing

It was quite a surprise seeing the Crater "high school kids", who are turning 19 very soon, participating in a race against some younger actual high school aged athletes and not performing as expected. Despite their age, they were outrun by a younger competitor in this race. Interesting turn of events, right.

I was shocked no one had the balls go for it.
