The United States government will identify the cause of autism by September this year, U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said on Thursday.
Before people come in here to claim that the link between autism and vaccines has long been debunked, let me say this: IT HAS NOT.
Some time in the 90s, a researcher authored a scientific paper that did not pass peer review. Thats it. Nothing was debunked. That a paper does not pass peer review does not invalidate the hypothesis. The media has been lying to you guys all along.
People with autism used to be called fools, idiots, spazmos, etc. The "autism epidemic" is simply the realization that these people are misunderstood and have plenty of untapped potential.
If putting toxic garbage into our bodies caused autism, we would all be autistic.
"did not pass peer review" is literally what debunked means.
Experts considered the evidence and rejected the paper as being unscientific. What else could debunked mean?
"Debunked" can be applied to the paper, or it can be applied to the hypothesis. i grant that the scientific community has debunked the paper. he didnt follow the correct procdures.
But "debunked" can also be applied to the hypothesis, and here it would mean that they found the real cause of autism and it wasnt vaccines. This hasnt happened.
Because something wasnt proven once doesnt mean that that it has been disproven.
Is RFK Jr saying that the world would better off with no Elon?
He's saying we should CURE Elon.
It is ethically required of medicine that it honestly investigate autism, and try to treat it if possible. Unless of course they would like to remain atypical. That's part of the ethics too.
But "debunked" can also be applied to the hypothesis, and here it would mean that they found the real cause of autism and it wasnt vaccines. This hasnt happened.
Respectfully, I disagree. There has never been a peer-reviewed scientific paper which establishes a link between autism and vaccines.
Similarly, there has never been an established link between autism and hamburgers. Would you argue in support of a link between autism and hamburgers? I can't disprove this hypothesis. But it has no evidence to support it.
I've got a high functioning autistic kid and let me tell you...when people tell me "have you tried this" or someone else says, "have you tried that"....it's just exhausting. To much BS is out there on this stuff. Austism is an every growing spectrum that people are place on for their behaviors or social interactions. Some cases are pretty obvious, while it also serves as a place to put other diagnosis such as aspergers. You don't hear of that one much anymore, because it was placed on the spectrum in 2013 in that medical diagnosis book for insurance purposes as people diagnosed with that condition could not get full insurance benefits. What's the name of that book? I think it was the DSM-4. Anyway.....the last time I looked there were 274 types of autism. How can you get a cure for that? Here's a hypothesis and it's mine....women who previously took antidepressants in the SSRIs categories previously in their lifetime have an increased chance of having a child that will be place on the spectrum. They became more readily and used in the late 1980s. Well when did autism or conditions placed on the spectrums increase? As a long-time teacher the number of cases is increasing every single year. I'm just saying and Big Pharma does not want that one investigated....even if it's worth investigating.

I'm curious to see what data will be presented in September. The gold standard of the scientific method for drug testing is the double-blind clinical trial. Such a trial can't ethically be done with childhood vaccines since it would require a control group. It would also require an observation period long enough to allow autism to develop. That would mean a clinical trial of at least two years.
There are two many variables to get a definitive answer without a double-blind clinical trial. The major variables include environmental (plastics, household cleaners, etc), food additives (chemicals added to food, increased fructose, increased PUFAs, etc), and the change in diagnosing autism itself.
Also, there is the theory that that problem is not the MMR vaccine (or other specific vaccination on the schedule) that is causing autism, but it's the shock to the immune system of giving 20+ vaccines to children in a relatively short period of time. Some of theses vaccines are given enmasse. A double-blind clinical trial would have to be done on the vaccine schedule itself. We somewhat have observational data on this because other nations don't do as many vaccinations nor do they do them enmasse, but we still have the confounding diet, environmental, and food additive differences between the US and these other countries.
What is clear or at least clear to me is that something is happening before age five and even before age 3 that is resulting in more autism diagnoses.

Wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be linked with various deficiencies that have increased over time due to factors like soil depletion and so on.
It's far more probable that it's simply caused by parents genetics being passed down and likely expressed through the environment the child is raised in. Of course there are more cases nowadays; the population has exploded the past 3 decades. There is more of everything. If it makes everyone feel better to look for external causes, go ahead. Just don't do it at the expense of other people's lives and wellbeing.
The fact that he promises it will be known in September proves he has drawn his preconceived conclusion already. That is not the way real scientific research works. In real science you are unsure of what your study will find.
Follow the money is always wise. If he can author a study that claims big pharm pays a role then lawsuits will case many to be rich.
Why is everyone downvoting this? They don't want to know. I bet the cause is already known but we are not being told. Which means the powerful don't want it know. Clearly it's environmental.
