This guy Teare has no heart, you would think after barely losing to Fisher in the 5000m, he would be mad enough to try and separate and beat Fisher. There was $100k on the line what other incentive did he need?

Also, for the people saying Grant took a bigger risk by staying back and betting on his kick, I think Kwemoi’s probably the one he was concerned about possibly catching him if went with Hagos and blew up. He may even have mentioned Kwemoi in one of his pre-meet interviews where people were asking Grant if he was the favorite, if I remember correctly (or at least noted that a guy who beat him at the Olympics was here). If he and Kwemoi both go with Hagos, and only Grant fades, then Hagos wins overall. Inexcusable for Teare and Jacobs though, even if neither has really been in a position to even consider challenging for an international win before this weekend.

Well exactly, this is the most American way to "run a track meet" which is all about making more and more money but is so unsustainable that it's actually sad that the monetary incentive is the only way to get some athletes to race.. SML *cough*

the both know they dont belong at that level and were just grateful to get a run out. they didnt want to upset Grant as he may not let them have a selfie/carry his water bottle if they ever see him again
Elite runners always think they can outkick somebody. For Teare and Jacobs, it was the best strategy. Fisher is better than them but they barely lost in a sit and kick race on Friday.
