Agreed. Wanyonyi might not have a kick like that in a 3:30 type race but they basically handed this race to him on a silver platter by going through the 800 in 2:00.
To be fair, Wanyonyi has shown great ability in 2k XC against other Kenyan runners. His coach said that he runs close to 70-80 miles. This is not a huge surprise result.
Side note: Nuguse continues to prove he's a baller and probably the most underrated of the "big four." He was the only guy who really stayed within a stride of Wanyonyi and was well clear of Hocker, Kerr, and Gourley.
