9:15 is crazy for the first week in April. We may see the first ever in-season 9:0X mark this year.
....
It's going to take that to win somewhere this collegiate season, so I'm.saying it DEFINITELY will be a sub 9:12 this year and a very good chance at sub 9:10. Doris and Pamela are capable of sub 9:12 and one will push the pace once she is out kicked by the other before NCAA. Then there are two other females capable of sub 9:20.

Yeah, it looks like McCabe was spot on when she mentioned it would take 9:12 to be in the Natl title mix. My big concern re Kosgei is how she's come undone when pushing late at the end of races (tripping on the rail while closing two recent indoor 3ks). I'm looking forward to watching a replay of tonight's race.
Essentially a solo effort. Only Doris Lemngole has run a faster collegiate steeple.
Impressive to see in-person. It was a little windy at the time too - she's got more in the tank for sure.
I agree. Kosgei's current ceilings in several events are unknown. At The Ten, she might have touched Valby's 10k record with better pacing. Coach Gauson said they discussed going out in 15:25 (not 15:06!), which would have left her with more to burn towards the end.
Kosgei's 9:15.93 received a 1204 WA performance score. A string of equivalent steeples would put her in the mix for a spot on Kenya's 2025 World Champs 3000SC squad. How will Athletics Kenya select who goes to Tokyo? Trials race?
