1. You dont grass on your family for something this petty. Especially when your dad gave you everything you are.

2. Why are posters here suggesting his running would be affected by having to go to court a few days later? The only way I can think it might affect it would be if it is literally keeping you awake at night.

Breivik will remain in prison for the rest of his life. The sentence might be 21 years on paper, but he will never get out.

(Norway does not have the death penalty. The only European country that still has that is Belarus)

If the only abuse you remember after reading the article is the towel thing, then you might have a problem. It seems quite obvious than the prolonged emotional abuse on most (all?) of the siblings is the main reason why this case was brought to court.

It’s also important to note that Gjert abuse on their younger sister Ingrid has been the trigger for Kristoffer, Henrik, Filip and Jakob to bring the case forward.

1. Agree (to some extent). Growing up is never easy. I can easily bring up multiple situations where my dad (sometimes mom) behaved inappropriate (sometimes even committed crimes)...

Psychological abuse is always difficult to assess (experienced that too).

Either parents are too much involved or too little. I dont think there is a perfect parent. Without his dad Jakob n his brothers (Filip n Henrik) would most probably be nobodies.

Without knowing the exact content of the accusations I would have loved to have a parent that was dedicated and involved in my running journey and encouraging. But if Im totally honest n blunt; my parents did not want me to run.

Lastly, Gjert must be pretty devasted. Can you imagine bringing up kids, being a large part of their success n then have them turn against you, even want to see u behind bars! Thats incomprehensible to me...

Seems like this entire situation has completely gotten out of control. I used to threaten my mom that I would call 911 when she would hit me, but there's a difference threatening and actually calling the cops. My mom beat the crap out of me for no reason. I think back at it and she was an immigrant not knowing how to deal with life's stressors in a new country, a new language with my three other siblings. Thank god I didn't follow through because it was only a phase for those years and now we are best friends as adults, traveling the world together watching my kids run D1 at NCAA and on international trips.

It has probably gone past the point of no return for Jakob and I feel for him.

Quite ungrateful considering Jakob is completely the creation of Gjert. You don't do this to family.
