Not seeing that many top runners entered (especially on M side), but the 3 top Providence W and 2 top NC State W are as well as Scrimgeour and Appleton. Some Freshmen who basically sat out Indoors are scheduled as well.
To be streamed by ACCNX 4030 eastern Thursday and Friday and 3:30 on Saturday

Wow, Grace Hartman is entered in the 5,000 AND the 10,000!
I don't see her running both of the events.
I'm actually a little surprised she is racing at this part of the season. She has been "on" since XC season. Perhaps she did have a bit of a break after the NCAA XC meet around the holidays but it still seems like she has raced a lot. Perhaps Henes is thinking she will get her qualifier done early in the season to get that of the plate in order to focus on events like the Penn Relays, where NC State ran very well last year in the 4x1500.

That seems right. Heat sheets come out today. But 5000 has a group of top runners entered with Bush, Gapes, Hartman, Millard, Scrimgeour so there would appear a good opportunity to get a nice time right here and now.
I would think unlikely as the 5,000 immediately precedes 10,000 on the preliminary schedule and the fast heat is probably the last heat (it was last year)

I would say Flockhart more than May. Flockhart stepped up in XC but Indoors was clearly disappointing. May anchored DMR in 4:27 and then got 6th in 3000 at the Championship so not such a bad finish to Indoors for her.

In the context of the # of sub-4:30 and sub-8:50 times recorded this year--a season in which most of her competitors dropped all-time top 10 marks--I wouldn't call Flockhart's recent results indicators of regression at all (signs of inconsistent race sharpness, maybe). Her jump from 69th at 2023 XC Nats to 24th last Fall, massive 3000m PB in Dec and Big East mile title show that, big picture, she's rolling in the right direction.
It's unfortunate that McCabe is sitting this one out. A strong effort in the 5 or 10 vs Hartman would've been fun to watch.

Unless she received a waiver for 2024 outdoors (after she competed in the Bryan Clay Invitational), Ceili McCabe has used up all of her outdoor (and for that matter collegiate) eligibility.
For sure, but with Outdoor Champs and World Champs months away, I'd hope completing a (debut) collegiate 5k as strength work wouldn't throw her off track. In past seasons, McCabe raced the first-of-five NCAA steeples in April.
