No I don't. I didn't say that, just that her tactics in the WIC were much better than last year and that perhaps she reads LR because her tactics this time were excellent.

An even 3:54.9 won't get a medal in Tokyo. I am sure we can agree on that. OK it's indoors, so worth 2sec and she's run faster outdoors.

Kipyegon wasn't there, Hull ran the 3k so didn't need to be considered in the 15, Bell wasn't in top form evidently because their OG matchup was not remotely replicated, etc. So a different situation. Nevertheless in the past Tsegay has managed to blow races like this where she should have crushed her opposition. So, I think, an improvement in tactics yes.

Now if Colin Sahlman could read Zletsrun, maybe he would stop running all his races in lane 2, surging to the front and then slowing to the back and then boxing himself behind slow runner(s)

With all due respect to the OP, this makes no sense. In the Paris 1500m, Tsegay did exactly this: take it out in 60, try to dictate, and it totally did not work (though she also had a bad meet overall by her standards, so not sure about other physical factors) So I'm not sure how this Indoor Worlds is "learning" tactics, when she used different tactics in her different events in the Olympics in her different events.

She often runs well as long as Kipyegon is not in the the race. After all, she is a World champion in the 5000 and 10000.

Unfortunately, she is 0-16 against Faith in the 1500 and 0-3 against her in the 5000.

She also tried the exact same tactic in the WC in Eugene and Kipyegon sat on her heels the entire race until she pulled away on the final lap. Although Tsegay did get the Silver.

Tesegay employed the best possible tactic in that race. For her it was a race against a single opponent. She knew she was faster than every other runner in the field.

She also knew that if she allowed Kipyegon to dictate the pace and turn it into a 400m dash, not only would she to lose to Faith but it would open up the race to others who had better pure kicks.

Her only chance was to take it out at WR pace and hope that somehow she could burn out Kipyegon.

athletes and coaches, despite having to cringe, can sift thru for usable info from time to time.
