Dude matched Jakob stride for stride until that last 50m. Good tactical racer as well. I wonder why he doesn't do the 5 at global championships anymore
Im not sure what conclusions you can draw from just this one race. The pace was slow and he beat Ky Robinson, who has far inferior PRs, by less than a second. Ingebrigtsen should be able to scorch Aregawi in a slow 3000m, so maybe he didn’t take the race seriously.

he did outkick Fisher in the 10k who outkicked Hocker in the 3k though.

Unless everyone has fitness permanently set in stone, and pace and distance has no effect, your transitive property approach doesn’t mean much.

His tactics this race were pretty much perfect. He forced Jakob wide every step of the way for the last few laps. There was nothing more he could’ve done to win this. The fact that he held off the world record holder and a 3:26 guy for so long is so impressive.
Relatedly, Grant is not winning gold as long as this guy is in the 10k.

To be fair, it seems like people always tend to kick later in indoor races given how the 200m track makes passing so much harder tactically (particularly once gears have been shifted).
My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious

His kick is really good, but Jakob ran in the outside lane so he had to work harder. I think it also shows just how good Jakob's kick is too.
He was training for the Porto half marathon until only a few weeks ago when he was called up for this race so his performance is even more impressive to me
