I feel like you took the Rojo approach to starting threads - catchy title while deliberately vague. Nice work.
It's awesome they showed the voting breakdown too. Coe was a distant third (8).

I'm surprised. I thought he would get more support than that.
She should move to USA. She could be an African American.
Nothing to add other than that "scrutineer" is a fun new word I learned from the paperwork shown in the article.
The article mentioned that her election in the first round was greeted by "gasps" from spectators. I do not recall hearing about her and her olympic swimming medals, and can not judge how she will be as the new president - but I was surprised that Sebastian Coe, whose background seemed to leave him very well prepared for that role, was defeated. Can any of you provide more insights?

He must be good at fishing but we love all our africans! If she is competent it’s all it takes😇
What are her thoughts on trans athletes and rans swimmers in particular competing in the Olympics?
Coe received only 8 votes

Just imagine her kids being accepted to Harvard on affirmative action. Then the admissions see pasty faces just like theirs. That has to be a priceless moment.

She supports classification based on biological sex, not gender.
Coe got absolutely destroyed. I didn't follow it at all but googling now see Coventry was expected to lead the 1st round of voting but not get a majority and then someone else would eventually win.
Here are vote totals:
Majority required: 49
Kirsty Coventry: 49
Juan Antonio Samarach Jr: 28
Sebastian Coe: 8
Morinari Watanabe: 4
David Lappartient: 4
Prince Feisal Al Hussein: 2
Johan Eliasch: 2
Coe led the early betting odds but apparently his odds tanked recently.
I Feb Betonline. At article had these odds:
Next IOC President Odds:
Sebastian Coe: +150
Prince Faisal al-Hussein: +400
David Lappartient: +500
Juan Antonio Samaranch Jr.: +600
Kirsty Coventry: +600
Morinari Watanabe: +600
Johan Eliasch: +800
This post by same author hinted at a possible scandal.
Then I saw this in The Athletic:
Yet googling around I find ZERO evidence he visited Espstein Island. If his name had been released I'm pretty sure the sleuths on LRC would have reported it here.
Audio sounds like a fake to me.
So looks like one of the smear campaigns was against Coe. Pretty disgusting if this was a smear campaign against him.
I'm going to start a different thread on this.

Who cares?
Women and anyone who cares about women's rights do.
You and your ilk can't even define "woman".
Will she ban Kenya? Hopefully.
We already have 3 active threads on this topic. Rather than create a 4th thread, how about merge all the existing threads together and make that the official thread?
I don't know the other contenders except for Coe. I would have voted for Coe.

She went to school at Auburn. Surprised they would elect a white African farmer in this era (does anyone know is she a Rhodie or a Zimbo?).
The mythical white African
