Second fastest UK woman, not second fastest UK women’s time. Paula ran 2:15, 2:17 twice and 2:18. Before supershoes 😜
FWIW I think Eilish will crack 2:20 although I’m not sure the marathon will be her best event - but happy to be proved wrong on this! She’s more than exceeded expectations in the 10000m and HM.
odds on for a DNF or DNS. she has a horrible style not suited to the marathon. plus, she will be all alone, not fast enough to go with the leading africans, then running behind (less be honest, Purdue rarely makes a startline) and theres no others on the entry list of equal talent

Sorry, badly worded.
Still hopeful. It would be good if it's a slower women's race and she can be with the lead pack as long as possible, just needs to stay healthy

Hopefully she reads this post, changes her style and breaks 2:10. ...and then runs 3000 at World Indoors.
At least she doesn’t appear to be injured this time. I do think the half marathon is her best distance. I don’t think she’ll break 2.20. I think she’ll be around 2.22-2.23. Hopefully Purdue will race with her and they can work together. They won’t be in the same league as the leaders but should still be a good race.
I really want to see if he can recreate the magic from his out-of-the-blue performance in the 2019 Berlin Marathon so that he has a solid win under his belt as he goes into the twilight years of his GOAT career.
I think she will prove us wrong and have a really strong debut! She gains fitness easily and has been healthy for a long stretch of time, plus she’s posted more about fueling during runs etc. so I’m hopeful

Brasher will surely invest heavily in a couple of pacers who will take her to, i'd guess, at least 25k at her target pace and maybe a little further. Whether her target pace is optimal for her on the day...... I'm as interested to see what Grovdal can do on same day

I do want her to prove us wrong. I know in the past she had fuelling issues on long runs so if these are sorted and she has a good day…
She is mentally very tough so that will go in her favour. Plus a home crowd.

Yeah, Radcliffe had horrible marathon form. So does Obiri.
