Don’t you often note how your political stances tend to be motivated strongly by hate and contempt (in your case, for the Left), because you already decided long ago that you know what’s right, they will be wrong no matter what, and you don’t really have to examine whether you’re still adhering to your best principles and most solid thinking as you potentially make new tradeoffs to oppose those you hate?

I generally think that’s a poor way to proceed with one’s reasoning, and it seems that you’re staring one of the more striking outcomes in the face.
