What SpaceX did today is amazing. You may not agree with the Chief Engineer and CEO’s politics, but this is an amazing achievement from the company.
Is it though? Returning someone from the ISS is amazing? Going to and from space is something humans having been doing for over half a century at this point.

But what's so special about what spacex did yesterday? They completed a planned, contracted mission that they and nasa had been working on for about 8 months, albeit about a month behind schedule.

Boeing has been sending these capsules to the space station for decades. I get that SpaceX is a much newer company but I don't get the hype.
