Chris, you are absolutely right, no offense taken. I think onew thing that bothers me is the "one tool works for all" approach that some of the crowd (the younger ones who haven't fallen on their faces yet) takes on here. I believe in high mileage--but like you said, if someone on the comeback like I am were to try to run 70 a week RIGHT NOW, I'd be very likely to be injured. Thus, for someone in MY position, it might make sense--on certain days--to just be happy with an 11:30 pace while I'm burning calories, etc., UNTIL I get the weight down. I think sometimes the best thing that could happen to me would be a bad case of amnesia, where I'd be able to forget my PR's from the late 80's and just be able to begin with a fresh slate. Whatever....gotta deal with what I got, and that's a lousy aerobic base and a (temporary) ton of weight I have to get off. And sometime in the next three years, I hope to qualify for Boston.
