We can argue if an 18 year old is truly a kid. But regardless, a coach being involved with giving banned substances to athletes that age is a whole different level of corruption as far as I'm concerned. I hope he never is able to coach again (insert line about due process).

He was also coaching multiple athletes under 18, one of whom (Skyler Franklin) tested positive last year. Also Issam, while 18, would have been 17 at the start of the year and either way was a high school student.

This should carry a jail sentence.

Giving weird SARMs and peptides and other RC PEDa to consenting adults is pretty bad when you consider how un-researched they are and how athletes will just kinda do what coach says.

Giving it to a kid, potentially unknowingly too, is f*cked up.

There must be legal language and precedent in law to fashion charges related to that behavior that entails serious consequences, like jail, fine, loss of any credentials?! As bad as "roofies" or worse.

A sad but real thing that's been going on for a few years is a huge uptick of kids on social media advocating for these research PEDs. You can go watch YouTube videos of kids doing it just to get jacked, not even play a sport. I mean, if I'm gonna ingest some mega carcinogens, I better at least get to embarrass someone at the championship, not just flex in a mirror.

Anyway, lots of kids are doing it. The ones in sports just don't talk about it.

So, should parents of an 18 year old HS graduate make an effort to get to know the college coach their son/daughter intends to run for? Or do college coaches in track frown on that? I mean, I know if you are a top level recruit then any coach with some sense is going to initiate contact with the parents at some point but what if you are in the walk on category? Your son/daughter got into a school, reached out and the coach is willing to allow them to walk on? Would the coach be offended if the parents asked to meet just to get an idea of who the coach is or would that be frowned upon?

Wow. This really puts Asinga's argument totally underwater. Perhaps circumstantial evidence but damning nonetheless. There's still a chance it was administered unknowingly but that chance is probably slim.

PPAR (Beta) / (Delta) agonists, including GW501516, were developed for the treatment of hyperlipidemia and other cardiovascular diseases; a number of clinical trials have been registered on clinicaltrials.gov (NCT00388180, NCT00318617, NCT00158899, NCT00841217). In my rek runner: Anti Doping 101 class this semester, I've learned he's being railroaded. They haven't proven the source of the drugs in his bag, and all the charges are based on presumption. Also, they have not shown intent.

What does "unknowingly" here mean? I doubt Phiri told them it was GH1516 and Meldonium or that he was giving them banned substances. I would say he either told them it was an above the board supplement or gaslit them into thinking it was a grey-area substance that "everyone does" but that they can't talk about.

True, I saw that too. Rekrunner explained that Asinga only ate gummi bears. That provisional suspension is therefore nonsense.
